This is a 'typical' day in my life at work here. If you don't understand something just ask.......
8:00....Arrive at work. Right off the bat I unlock rooms and open up the vault and spin my combinations for the double locked compartments.
8:05....Check my e-mail and phone messages. Nothing this morning yet, "Thank Goodness!"
8:10....I have reports from the previous days transactions that I need to print and then check. Make sure that everything is kosher.
8:20....Started to make this blog.
8:27....I'm off to the ABM room. I'll be back.
9:03...I'm back. So what I just did was; we went to the ABM room, that's the room behind the bank machine, so you can access the deposits and cash. First we open the night deposit safe and take out all those deposits. They are deposits made pirmarily by businesses. Then I open the top compartment of the night depoit and our daily courier bag is sitting there. I pull it out and throw it onto the greeters desk. She opens it and distributes appropriatly.
Then we open the back of the bank machine. We pull out the deposits, if it was a different day we may count the ABM, or add to it, but today we aren't doing either so we simply close the door. Then we run off ABM reports to ensure that we have the correct amount of deposits and we make sure that we still have enough money in the machine. Everything was good so we left.
We then go with the night deposit and the ABM deposits to treasury. Treasury is a double lock so we both have to spin our coms. We are going into treasury because my head teller needs some coin, and thre are ABM envelopes that were held over from the pervious day that we need.
After which its off to the processing room. I open night first, we always have to be in double custody so that if there are any discrepancies we can verify with eachother. So I open and count, then my head teller, whom I do it with, counts it again. Second we open the ABM deposits and follow the same procedures. One thing I've learned working at the bank, money STINKS!!! Especially coming from fast food restaurants!!
9:05.....I am done with the ABM and night. I just got called away to help someone with their computer. I am the resident computer whiz here. All these ladies think I know everything about them, which is weird, because I don't think I know much about computers. lol.
9:10....I am preparing for my Sales and Service meeting that I am going to be holding in about 30 minutes. To prepare I go over my notes for what I want to talk about and then print out agends for everyone.
9:19...Oops, forgot to change out of my runners.
9:49...The meeting is done and I have a phone message.
9:51....Customer had a problem with his online banking. I had to fix it.
10:00....We go live. Doors opened. I make my morning call to Lana.
10:10....I'm working on next months schedule. We are going through another change here. One of my tellers is leaving us to go for more hours in Lacome. This leaves us with hours to fill. So I've divided it between a few of my tellers. This means that hours will change and I'm just making up the new schedule.
10:42....With the schedule printed its on to other more boring things. Remember those reports I printed way back at 8:10. Well, I'm actually checking them now, and I never cheqched yesterday's either, so I'm doing yesterdays too.
11:01....Not done those reports yet, but I had a gentleman stop in to renew an investment and my normal investment lady was busy so he comes to yours truly. We talked about different options and he decided on one. I also have to enter it into the system.
11:26....Finally done those reports. I had a lady from some school stop in and ask for a donation. We gave her some cash. I have to report the cheque and list it in my records.
11:38....A customer in to be added to an account. I took care of her.
11:58....Almost lunch. I just was talking with my manager about the new summer campaign. If you sign up for a new account and have either 2 direct depits or
12:08.....I had a customer complaint to deal with. Oh well, another late lunch. Gone for lunch.
I'll continue when I get back from lunch.
